1. Who we are
Shipvale ("we", "us") operates a fulfillment and order-tracking platform used by merchants to deliver and track physical goods. This page is maintained by Shipvale to explain how we handle information when merchants and their customers use our service. Questions? privacy@shipvale.com.
2. Information we process
- Order data submitted by merchants: order ID, items, shipping address, tracking numbers, carrier, and status updates.
- Recipient contact (name, email, phone) used only to deliver tracking notifications and support communications.
- Account data for merchant users: email, hashed password, session tokens, and role.
- Usage & diagnostic logs: IP address, request timestamps, and error traces used to secure and improve the service.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to fulfill and track orders, send transactional notifications, provide customer support, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve reliability of the platform. We do not sell personal information and do not use recipient contact details for marketing.
4. Sharing with subprocessors
We share the minimum data required with vetted subprocessors: our cloud hosting provider, our transactional email provider, and shipping carriers you enable (e.g. UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL). Each is bound by a data processing agreement.
5. Retention
Order records are retained for as long as the merchant's account is active and for up to 24 months after account closure for legal and accounting purposes. Diagnostic logs are retained for 90 days.
6. Your rights
Depending on your region (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA), you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data. Email privacy@shipvale.com and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to production systems is limited to authorized personnel with multi-factor authentication. See our Security page for more.
8. Changes
We will post any material changes to this policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
